Fees are payable to the Montana Board of Nursing. All application fees are NON-REFUNDABLE and must be received with your application to insure proper processing.
Highlights
Applications for the state of Montana must be submitted in paper. You must print out the form, fill it out, and mail it in to the Iowa Board of Nursing. ILLEGIBLE and INCOMPLETE applications will be returned.
It is critical to your licensure to not withhold any information regarding each question on
the application.
Submitting the application for licensure by examination does NOT register you for the exam. Applicants must register and pay separately for the exam by going to: www.pearsonvue.com.
To complete the application process you must:
Completed applications will be reviewed by the Board. If applicants are determined to be eligible to test, they will receive an authorization to test (ATT) notification from Pearson VUE.
Applicants must take and pass the NCLEX.
When the Board office receives the applicant's passing test results from Pearson VUE, the applicant will be issued a license.
Both RN and LPN applicants may request a temporary permit. A temporary permit allows you to practice nursing until the results of the NCLEX are available.
To obtain a temporary permit in Montana, you must:
Temporary permits are valid for a period of 90 days and may not be renewed or
reissued.
The Board may not authorize all temporary permit requests.
